EU-Kultur: The Sugarkneaded - Der aus Zucker Geknetete (griechisches Puppentheater)

Emmanouela Kapokaki, an artist with all manner of awards, distinctions and international collaborations to her credit, continues her personal exploration of the relationship between actor and puppet.
A fairytale from the Mani in the Southern Peloponnese,

She plays Tarò, a woman who moulds her beloved—a life-size puppet— exactly as she wants him out of edible materials. But reality will be harsh on the young lovers who dare to turn their backs on their conservative society.
Three-dimensional figures, mechanical toys, Muppet show puppet, finger and glove-puppets create a magical atmosphere which captivates and entertains the audience.
Based on Mani's traditional faitytale "Taro and the Sugarkneaded", transcribed by Athena Biniou.
Art Direction, Creation & Performance: Emmanouela Kapokaki
Music: Kostas Beveratos

EU-Kultur: DI-MENTIA - The Musical auf Zypriotisch

"DI-MENTIA"

Production: Alex Panayi et Catherine Christophidou
Musique: Alex Panayi
Textes: Stergios Mavrikis
Réalisation: George Rodosthenous
Décors: Nicolas Panayi

There comes a day when everyone will betray you, including your own self. There comes a time when your own hourglass runs out of sand. When that happens are there any footprints on the sands of time left behind? A tale of artistic immortality seeking to reunite past and present. Brothers separated by space and place, looking for a homeland or a "hostland". Does forgiving mean forgetting?

Alex Panayi and Katerina A. Christofidou in collaboration with the permanent Cypriot Delegation to UNESCO and the Cyprus Ministry of Culture present a brand new musical by Alex Panayi (music) and Stergios Mavrikis (book and lyrics), directed by George Rodosthenous. Visual creations by Nicholas Panayi. A musical journey into creativity, treachery and eternity.
