It is not merry for us six.
On faces are the streams of rain+

It is not merry for the guests,
Idle is pitcher of crystal,
Sad are they all, sad are you too,
But saddest is the one uncalled.

It is not merry and not light.
Ah! You don't drink and do not eat.
How could you have forgotten this?
How could you have erred in the count?

How could you, dared, not understand,
That six (two brothers, the third —
You, with wife, father and mother) there
Are seven — that I'm in this world?

You dressed the table for the six,
But with six the world did not die.
More than the scarecrow midst the live
I want to be a ghost — with (mine),

Yours... Shy just like a thief,
O - never touching but a soul! —
Behind the silverware unmade
I sit as seventh one, uncalled.

At once! I overthrew the glass!
An all that thirsted to be poured —

Video: Liberia

MÚKÙNÉ

In June 2018, professional surfers Arthur Bourbon and Damien Castera travelled to Africa in order to make a documentary film about Liberia. They went there to witness the history of the first surfing community in this country, devastated by 15 years of civil war.

Here is a short film introducing their journey. A feature-length documentary is currently being edited and will be available in early 2019.

On a cold, misty morning in late October 2017, after 11 previous attempts, Brad Gobright and Jim Reynolds broke the standing speed record on The Nose (formerly held by Alex Honnold and Hans Florine) with an unbelievable new time of 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 44 seconds. Watching this as it happened was one of the more incredible spectacles I've ever witnessed; an amazing display of superhuman mastery unlike anything I've seen before...

The Nose ist eine etwa 1000 Meter lange Kletterroute am El Capitan im Yosemite-Tal in Kalifornien (USA). Die Route wurde ursprünglich mit VI, 5.10/A3 bewertet. Die „VI“ entspricht einer alpinen Mehrtagestour im Yosemite Decimal System. Ganz ohne die Verwendung künstlicher Hilfsmittel, also in freier Kletterei, beträgt die Schwierigkeit „5.13b“. Die Route ist bis heute eine der populärsten Felskletterrouten der USA. Die möglichen Biwakplätze werden, in Anlehnung zu hochalpinen Routen, mit Camp bezeichnet. Nach dem vierten Biwakplatz „Camp IV“, einer markanten Plattform unter einem großen Dach, wurde der Klettercampingplatz in Yosemitetal benannt. Etwa auf halber Höhe der Route befindet sich der „El Cap Tower“; dies ist ein etwas von der Wand abstehender Felspfeiler, dessen Gipfelplateau zum Biwakieren verwendet werden kann.[wikipedia]

Noch Am Leben (Still Alive)

Haunted from the beginning to the very end, Noch Am Leben/ Still Alive is the story of a woman’s recollection of her mad Holocaust survivor great aunt.

Through the ghetto to cradling her dying sister, Eva Nagler left her mind on the beaches of the Baltic Sea during one of the largest death marches of WWII. Being only one of only a handful of survivors out of tens of thousands, we see vignettes of her perspective- distorted, romantic and affected by the muffled memories.

Narrated by her great-niece, the story captures a snapshot of the cold reality of war and its terrible lingering aftermath.

Vom Anfang bis zum Ende erlebt, ist Noch Am Leben die Geschichte der Erinnerung einer Frau an ihre verrückte Großtante, eine Holocaust-Überlebende.

Durch das Ghetto und weiter laufend, um ihre sterbende Schwester zu wiegen, ließ Eva Nagler während eines der größten Todesmärsche des Zweiten Weltkrieges an den Ostseestränden des Baltikums ihren Verstand zurück. Als eine von nur einer Handvoll Überlebenden von Zehntausenden Marschierenden sehen wir Vignetten ihrer Perspektive - verzerrt, romantisch und von den gedämpften Erinnerungen betroffen.

Von ihrer Großnichte erzählt, fängt die Geschichte eine Momentaufnahme der kalten Realität des Krieges und seiner schrecklichen Nachwirkungen ein.
