A danced embodiment of Bach’s soulful aria, “Enbarme dich” (Have Mercy) from St. Matthew Passion becomes a moving sequence of nearly 100 individual painted portraits hovering in a black void. The brush stroke transposes the visceral tension and contours of the naked body to canvas and screen.
